Meet the Team and Our Proactive Podiatrist

Monique Milne – Owner (B.Pod M.A.Pod.A.)

Is a senior podiatrist and the owner of Proactive Podiatry. Monique started Proactive Podiatry in 2010 with extensive clinical experience and knowledge, having worked as a podiatrist within the public sector, private sector, community health and aged care.

Prior to starting Proactive Podiatry, Monique worked at the Murray Mallee Community Health Service and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she treated high-risk complex patients. Her senior podiatry role formed part of the Multidisciplinary team working alongside vascular surgeons, infectious disease physicians, endocrinologists, diabetes educators and wound care nurses.

Experienced in public speaking and presenting podiatry educational material to other allied health disciplines, nursing and medical staff, Monique has supervised and taught podiatry and third year medical students.

Relocating to Melbourne in 2013 Monique has since become a member of the Australia Podiatry Association (Vic). Tahlia North is now the practicing proactive podiatrist, while Monique frequently visits Adelaide and continues to manage Proactive Podiatry.

Tahlia North  – Clinical Proactive Podiatrist (B.Pod M.A.Pod.A.)

Is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated proactive podiatrist offering all aspects of podiatry care to her clients.

Undertaking further training in acupuncture/dry needling Tahlia is able to provide a range of treatment options for acute and chronic foot and leg pain.

Tahlia is passionate about all facets of podiatry, with a keen interest in acute/chronic heel pain, lower limb biomechanics, sports injuries, diabetes footcare, nail surgery, general and paediatric podiatry.

A strong focus for Tahlia is client care and continuing education, where she strives to get the best possible outcomes for her patients. She enjoys working with clients of all ages.

Graduating from the University of South Australia in 2014 with a Bachelor of Podiatry, she embarked on a career in private practice. Since then Tahlia has divided her time working between podiatry clinics across the Yorke Penisula and metropolitan Adelaide.

Prior to starting her career as a podiatrist, Tahlia worked at The Athletes Foot where she developed an acute knowledge of both athletic and everyday footwear.

Our friendly podiatrist Tahlia has an up to date knowledge in the latest footwear technology and determining the right footwear for your foot type.

She is currently a member of the Australian Podiatry Association.

Philosophy

At Proactive Podiatry we aim to do as our name says and treat the cause of your condition, combining proactive strategies of prevention rather than treating just the symptoms of pain itself. This is why we believe in the theory of proactive prevention, rather than reactive treatment.

At Proactive Podiatry our treatment regime entails correctly assessing and diagnosing your condition. We will provide you with various treatment options to improve your symptoms, getting you back to enjoying a healthier lifestyle.

Our Proactive Podiatrist will discuss how and why your condition has occurred and provide you with self-maintenance education and strategies to prevent re-occurrence.

We have a strong focus on self management to ensure that you take responsibility for your condition, enhancing your treatment and achieving optimistic outcomes.
